Information Technology Analyst - Weather Decision Technologies, Inc.

WDT is seeking to hire professional IT Analysts to work in the commercial weather industry in its Operations group. Weather Decision Technologies, Inc. (WDT) is a growing Norman-based weather company focused on providing world class, decision support tools and products to a wide range of consumers and weather sensitive industries around the globe. The WDT Operations group is responsible for basic systems and network administration, desktop support and customer service.
Candidates for this position must possess basic understanding and administration experience (1-3 years) working in the following environments:
• Linux, Unix or other Unix Equivalent Operating Systems
• Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Vista Operating Systems
• Multi Site, IP Based Ethernet WAN and LAN Environments
• Dell and Sharp Multi Function Printers, Fax and Scanning Equipment
Persons in this role will be required to perform basic installation, configuration and troubleshooting of the above systems. Candidates should be able to understand basic networking concepts such as DHCP, Windows Active Directory integration and Linux / Unix Secure Shell (SSH).
Persons in this role will also need to posses installation, configuration and troubleshooting skills with Windows based software applications such as Microsoft Office 2003 and 2007 (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Ideal candidates will understand basic command line navigation inside RedHat Enterprise Linux systems and can diagnose server performance issues and install, configure and support RedHat Enterprise systems, manage backups of the systems and configure Virtual Machine software such as VMware - in a medium sized enterprise of over two hundred servers. Knowledge of the below technologies and concepts are the minimum qualifications for Ideal Candidates:
• Deep knowledge of Perl scripting or shell scripting such as csh and bash
• Understanding and experience with the Unidata Local Data Manager
• Advanced understanding of networks and firewall technologies
Any person in this role must be detail oriented, possess excellent written and oral communications and have an adaptive schedule when overnight maintenance of operational equipment is required.
