Drawing on multiple perspectives and bodies of data, the panelists will take you on a chronological tour detailing the forecasts and forecast processes, the preparation, reaction, and aftermath within our community, and personal perspectives of the May 20, 2013 Newcastle-Moore-OKC tornado. Interweaving descriptions of events around a timeline that begins in the days before May 20th, Rick Smith and Jack Friedman will discuss their observations within the Norman National Weather Service Forecast Office. Joe Ripberger will discuss his findings from social media observations. Harold Brooks will discuss how OKC prepared and reacted. Jimmy Correia will present a broad overview of forecast timelines and will moderate the discussion.

Visitor parking is available for all University visitors. However, faculty/staff/students must have a current multi-purpose parking permit. Additional parking is available at the Lloyd Noble Center (LNC) for those individuals who do not have a parking permit. You do not need a permit to park in one of 1,200 spaces reserved for CART bus riders, although you must ride the CART shuttle to park in the reserved area. This area is on the north central side of the Lloyd Noble Center. Elsewhere at the LNC, permits are required.
