The criteria for selection for this award include Grade Point Average (GPA), leadership, service, research and/or internship activities. Must be nominated.

Presented to an undergraduate who has given freely of his or her time and talents to departmental services. This may include a student very actively involved in groups such as the Student Affairs Committee, OUSCAMS, OWL, or giving tours.

This award may be given to a graduate or undergraduate student who has either been a Teaching Assistant for a meteorology course, or who has been an instructor for a meteorology course.

Awarded to a student who has attained at least junior status and who has demonstrated an interest in meteorological measurements and observing systems.

Awarded to a student who is involved in developing and maintaining weather displays and visualizations as part of the HOOT Development Lab.

This award is for full-time undergraduate students who have completed at least 45 hours of course work and have maintained at least a 3.5 GPA in their meteorology courses as well as direct pre-requisites.

Awarded to the undergraduate student winner of the Weather Challenge.

Presented to any University of Oklahoma student or recent graduate who is the lead author on a refereed journal article (preferably accepted, but at least submitted) with a focus on radar studies of the atmosphere. The research described in the article should exemplify the inter-disciplinary nature of remote sensing of the atmosphere using radar.

This award is given based on the quantity and quality of a student's contributions to the Oklahoma Weather Laboratory.
